What were the first forms of entertainment?
-The Roman and Greek's entertainment consisted of violent gladiator battles and killing of animals. Art, literature, plays, and Olympics were also great pastimes. I found that you can relate these subjects to present day entertainment, art has transformed into product design and advertisements, literature has turned into article writing and satirical stories, plays have drastically changed into 3D motion pictures and T.V., and the Olympics...well are still here but we have added more events and we have invented new sports. Oh and the violent gladiator battles turned into video games that simulate a violent gladiator battle!

What were the first effects of the entertainment industries influence?
-When the entertainment industry began to grow around the 1880's the first thing that sprouted was film. Many of the subjects that were captured by film were for carnival shows. Around the 1900's people began to play more with motion pictures and was ultimately used as propaganda. When WWI started film played a huge role in turning pacifist into supporters of war, and raising support for the American troops. Hitler used film to his advantage as well, along with being a spectacular speaker Hitler hired directors to make propaganda films to support the Nazi efforts. Many film directors saw the power of film, they saw how they could easily project what they thought good morals were for the people.

How has the entertainment industry change peoples lives?
-The entertainment industry has impacted peoples lives greatly. Having seen a ad every mile on the freeway I think that the entertainment industry affects every single person here. Around the 1920's there was a huge boom in the entertainment industry. Movies didn't cost that much and film was still being perfected. Many people have never even seen a movie or even watch T.V., so when a new comer came to watch a movie they got very terrified some even ran out of the movie theaters due to the realness they saw. I found this very funny due to now a days it takes human dismemberment to get someone to run out of a movie theater well at least for me. Besides movies T.V. has impacted almost every American with all the commercials and ads. Commercials and ads effect everyone now a days, they were specifically made to make you want to buy their product. Since so many entrepreneurs started to sprout up they started to makes ways to lure buyers to buy their products. When this happened people started to by things that they really didn't need, and our economy boomed from this. In today's society entertainment is a BIG part of our lives. We need it to get our news and information, also we need it to keep our children occupied.

Feng Zhu

Today I decided to look up one of my inspirations Feng Zhu. Feng Zhu is a highly accredited concept artist in the Entertainment Industry. One of the things that really stick out and surprise me is the fact that he has participated in a triple-A game title. Feng Zhu has been working in the industry for quite some time and makes him a good example for how the Entertainment Industry has changed. In one of Feng Zhu's YouTube video he stated that the Entertainment Industry has changed drastically over the years, before there were hardly any concept artists for movies and video games. The job competition was very low when movies and video games came out, but now the job competition has risen so high that it's no longer about your ability to draw, it's about the speed you are able to produce ideas and the quality. Listening to Feng Zhu's Youtube videos has really taught me a lot about the Entertainment Industry and how it has changed from when he started.

In this article by M A Mughal they explain how entertainment has evolved to fit our ever growing  and changing lives. M A Mughal tells some positive effects and how they work on our society. For example, M A Mughal tells how if there was a popular quiz show on T.V. and all your friends like it and watched it you would too want to watch it. In do this society will gain knowledge from what the show is showcasing. A negative effect the entertainment has on us is the use of violent. Violence has always been a great source of entertainment in America; and M A Mughal tells how it corrupts our kinds minds making them think violence is an ok option. I do think that this article could be a bit better M A Mughal did just from topic to topic very fast with the negative and positive effects of society, but it also makes you realize how easy society can be brainwashed

In this article John F. Floyd explains his side on why  the entertainment industry is setting a bad example for the people in the United States. John F. Floyd states how other countries might view us based on our now  days entertainment. I do agree with John F. Floyd, he has risen some very good points on how there's a lot of pornographical or near pornographical contents. I wonder if later on the entertainment industry will continue on this crash course they're taking or start to take out the junk that corrupts our futures minds?

My Reason

I would love to learn more on how the entertainment industry affects us as a society. I know that almost everybody in the U.S. is affected by the entertainment industry everyday, but I want to know how and in what ways. Movies and video games are just the tip of the iceberg  Many people do not count all the countless magazine ads, bill boards, and TV commercials and shows as part of the entertainment industry and they are the most influential of all to us.
